What we clear in Naples

Eight things we are actually asked for on Collier County ground. If your job is not on this list, say so and we will tell you straight whether it is ours.

Forestry mulching

One machine cuts standing growth and grinds it back into the ground as chip in the same pass. No pile, no burn, no trucks.

Estate lot clearing

The Golden Gate Estates brief. An acre or more of overgrown ground taken back to something you can drive across and build on.

Underbrush removal

Palmetto, Brazilian pepper and melaleuca taken out from under the pines and palms you are keeping.

Selective clearing

You mark what stays and we cut round it. Cabbage palms and mature slash pine are usually the keepers here.

Excavator clearing and grubbing

Where the roots have to come out rather than the top growth being ground off. Our 30 inch excavator mulcher.

Home site preparation

Building envelope, drive and pad taken down to workable ground before your builder arrives.

Trail and firebreak cutting

Access rides through a wooded parcel, and a cut line between your buildings and the scrub.

Debris haul off

Mulching leaves everything where it falls. Grubbing does not, so the haul is quoted per job when it applies.

Who calls us in Collier County

Estates lot owners

An acre and a quarter of Golden Gate Estates that has gone back to pepper and palmetto. The most common call we take in this county.

People about to build

Clearing the envelope, the drive and the pad before the builder mobilises, so the site is ready rather than a delay.

Owners fighting exotics

Brazilian pepper and melaleuca do not stop at your line. Mulching takes the standing growth out in one pass.

Sellers and agents

A parcel nobody can see across is a parcel nobody buys. A day with a mulcher shows the buyer what they are actually looking at.

Acreage and grove owners

Ground east of the city coming back to scrub, or an old planting that needs opening up before it can be used.

Builders and contractors

Site prep on a schedule, with a machine day you can put in a programme and a rate you can put in a bid.

How the work runs

Four steps, and the first two happen before anything leaves our yard.

Send photographs

Pictures with something in frame for scale, the lot size, and a note on what you want left standing. Most Collier parcels can be priced from that without anyone driving out.

We give you a real number

Usually the same day. It is a day count against a published rate, not a guess dressed up as a quote. If we think the ground will need a second day we say so before you book.

One machine, one pass

The mulching head cuts, grinds and spreads as it goes. No separate clear, pile and haul stage, which is where most of the cost and all of the mess normally sits.

You get a mulch layer

Not bare sand and not a field of cut stems. It holds the surface through the wet season and slows down what comes back.

What it costs

We sell machine days, not acres, and we publish the rates. On open Collier ground a big machine covers a lot in a day, which is why five acres in Naples came in at one day and a tighter acre and a half took two.

Skid steer mulcherFrom $3,000

Stems to 8 inches. Transport included. The machine for a single Estates lot

Excavator mulcherFrom $3,500

Stems to 30 inches, and grubbing. Plus transport

Dedicated mulcherFrom $4,000

Stems to 24 inches. Plus transport. The dearest machine we run

What moves the day count

Trees and palms you want keptWet season groundOld fence wireAccess and gate widthHow thick the pepper isSeveral lots in one visit

The rate follows the machine rather than the size of the stem, which catches people out: the dedicated mulcher costs more than the excavator even though the excavator takes bigger timber and pulls roots. Transport is the cost of getting the bigger two machines to you and is separate from hauling material away, which is quoted per job.

What we have actually done in Naples

Six finished jobs and seven machine days, from May 2024 to June 2026. Naples is the whole of our Collier County record, so this is all of it.

2024Four jobs, 4 machine days. Two at an acre in May, then 5 acres in October and 3 acres in December, each finished in a single day
2025One job, 2 machine days. February, an acre and a half
2026One job, 1 machine day. June, one acre
The largest5 acres in October 2024, cleared in one machine day with the dedicated mulcher

Five of the six were finished inside a single eight hour machine day, including both of the biggest. The acre and a half in February 2025 is the one that took two, which is a fair warning that thickness matters more than acreage. Four of the six recorded a machine: two ran with the dedicated mulcher and two with the skid steer.

The ground on a Collier County parcel

What grows hereSlash pine and cabbage palm over saw palmetto on the flatwoods, cypress in the low ground, and Brazilian pepper and melaleuca through anything disturbed. On an Estates lot left standing a decade the exotics are often most of the volume
What that means for a machinePepper is woody and springy rather than thick, so it mulches fast once the machine is in it. Palmetto root mat is the slow part, and it hides everything underneath
WaterA high water table and a wet season that runs into the autumn. Tracked machines cope, but they cope slowly, and booking dry season work is usually cheaper in days
AccessEstates lots sit on a grid of numbered avenues with good frontage, so the machine walks straight on. Closer to the coast it is gate width and turning room that decide the approach
5 acres

Cleared in a single machine day in Naples, October 2024. On open ground the day covers more than people expect, which is why we price in days rather than by the acre.

What customers say

★★★★★

FloridaLandClearing.com was beyond helpful in getting our property cleared. They were spot on with their quote, their crews arrived on time, and the machines they used were impressive to watch.

Jenny Anderson
★★★★★

We had a difficult project a few other companies attempted and left. Florida Land Clearing was able to get the job done and a day earlier than quoted.

Joseph Kelly
★★★★★

These guys are pros. Watching these machines just devour acres of underbrush in a day was one of the coolest things I have seen. I cannot believe how this transformed my property.

Before you book: trees on a Collier County parcel

Collier County regulates vegetation removal, and the City of Naples runs its own code inside the city limits. Worth a look before you decide what comes down.

What is protected depends on the species, the size of the trunk and whether the parcel is a single family homesite or land being developed. Native canopy trees and mangroves are treated differently from exotic species, and removing Brazilian pepper or melaleuca is generally viewed differently from taking down a native pine or cabbage palm.

Tell us what you want gone and what you want kept when you send photographs. We will tell you which trees look like the ones worth asking about before you spend anything.

We are a clearing contractor, not the permit office, and we do not file applications. Confirm your own parcel and your own trees with Collier County or the City of Naples before you commit.

Naples questions

How much does it cost to clear a lot in Naples?

From $3,000 a machine day. A standard Estates lot is usually one day. Send photographs and we will give you a day count rather than a range, because the day is the unit and most of what you are buying is a machine, an operator and a day of their time.

How long does it take?

Five of our six Naples jobs were a single machine day, including a five acre parcel. Thick growth, palms and trees you want kept, and wet ground are what turn one day into two, and we tell you that before you book rather than at the end of day one.

Can you clear five acres in a day, really?

On open ground with the right machine, yes, and we did in October 2024. On a tight lot full of pepper and palmetto an acre can take longer. That is why we want photographs rather than just the acreage.

What happens to everything you cut?

It stays on the ground as mulch, spread as the machine goes. Nothing piled, nothing burned. It holds the sand together through the wet season, which matters more here than people expect.

Will you take out Brazilian pepper and melaleuca?

Yes, and on a lot of Collier parcels that is the bulk of the job. Mulching removes the standing growth in one pass. Where the roots have to come out too, that is the excavator and grubbing rather than a mulching head.

Do I need a permit?

It depends on the species and the size of what is standing, and on whether you are inside the City of Naples or in unincorporated Collier County. Confirm your parcel with the right office rather than taking a contractor word for it, ours included.

Are you licensed and insured?

Insured, and we send the certificate before the machine moves. Florida does not issue a contractor licence for forestry mulching, so nobody holds one. Insurance is the document worth asking every contractor to produce.
