What we do
Eight jobs we are actually asked for. If yours is not one of them, say so and we will tell you straight whether it is ours.
Standing growth cut and ground back into the ground as chip, in one pass. Most of the record below is this.
The scrub under trees you are keeping taken out, so a stand becomes ground you can walk.
A platted lot gone back to bush, opened up in place. Nowhere on a lot that size to put what comes off it.

Four things worth knowing before you buy clearing
Not sales points. These are the four misunderstandings that cost people money on clearing jobs, and they are worth reading whoever you end up hiring.
The same acre can be a morning or three days depending on what is standing on it and how long it has stood. A price per acre has to assume one of those, and when the assumption is wrong somebody absorbs it. Usually you.
It grinds off what is standing and leaves the root plate in the ground. Taking roots out is grubbing, it is a different machine, and it costs more. Anyone telling you a mulching machine removes stumps is quoting a different job from the one they will do.
Our excavator takes bigger timber than our dedicated mulcher and pulls roots too, and it still costs less per day. That looks backwards until you see it is the machine being hired, not the tree being cut. It is why we publish all three rates.
That single choice moves the price more than anything else on the job. Working it out is our end of the deal, not yours, and we do it from photographs before you commit to anything.
How it goes from a photograph to a finished parcel
Four steps. The first two cost you nothing and happen before we commit a machine.
One from the road, a couple from inside, something in frame for scale, and the acreage. Tell us what stays standing and whether any of the ground holds water.
Usually the same day. A number of machine days against a published rate, which is arithmetic rather than a quote you have to take on trust. On anything multi day you get the count before a machine moves.
It cuts, grinds and spreads in the same pass. Nothing is stacked at your frontage waiting on a truck, nothing is burned, and nothing leaves your ground.

A machine day is eight hours of machine time on your ground. These are the three rates we quote against, and the only variable we work out for you is how many days your parcel needs.

What moves the day count
Transport is what it costs to get the bigger two machines to you. It is separate from hauling material away, which almost never applies here because the material stays on your ground. There is a fuller breakdown on the cost page.

Every county and city in Florida writes its own tree rules and they are not the same. What is protected depends on the species, the size of the trunk and how your parcel is classified.
If your parcel sits inside a city limit then the city is your authority rather than the county, and municipal rules tend to be the stricter of the two. Land in genuine agricultural use is usually treated differently again. Which of those you are in changes both the answer and which office gives it, so it is the first thing to establish.
We are a clearing contractor, not the permit office, and we do not file applications. Confirm your own parcel with your county or city before you commit, rather than taking a contractor word for it, ours included.
Straight answers
Why will you not price it by the acre?
Because an acre of open pasture and an acre of twenty year old scrub are not the same job, and no acreage price can tell them apart. We sell machine days against published rates and work out the day count from your photographs. The longer answer, with the numbers from our own record, is on the FAQ page.
What does a job actually cost?
It starts at $3,000 for a machine day on the skid steer with transport included, and the other two machines are dearer and quoted plus transport. What you pay is that rate multiplied by a day count we give you up front.
Do you work in my county?

How soon can you get to me?
Tell us where you are and what the ground is doing. Scheduling depends on where the machine is that week more than anything else, so it is worth asking early rather than assuming.
What happens to everything you cut?
It stays on your ground as a mulch layer, spread as the machine moves. Nothing is piled, nothing is burned, nothing is trucked away, and on most sites that layer is the point rather than a by product.
