What moves the day count
The rate follows the machine rather than the size of the stem, which catches people out: the dedicated mulcher costs more than the excavator even though the excavator takes bigger timber and pulls roots. Transport is the cost of getting the bigger two machines to you and is separate from hauling material away, which is quoted per job.

The City of Palm Coast runs its own tree protection rules, and they are separate from Flagler County code. Worth a look before you decide what comes down.
What is protected depends on the species and the size of the trunk, and the city has historically taken tree cover on residential lots seriously, including rules about what has to remain after clearing. Removing understory and non protected growth is normally a different question from taking down a mature pine or oak.
This is the county where we most often suggest people check before booking, precisely because the lots are small and the tree count on them is low enough that individual trees matter. Tell us what you want gone and what you want kept when you send photographs.
We are a clearing contractor, not the permit office, and we do not file applications. Confirm your own parcel and your own trees with the City of Palm Coast or Flagler County before you commit.

How long does it take?

I am out of state and cannot visit the lot. Can you still quote?
Yes, and it is a common ask here. Send the lot number and whatever photographs you can get from an agent or a neighbour. We would rather work from an imperfect picture and tell you what we can see than send you a number with no basis.
Will you leave some trees standing?
Yes, and on a lot this size it is worth thinking about carefully before we come out. There are usually only a handful of good trees and they are often the reason the lot was worth buying. Mark them and we will work round them.
What happens to everything you cut?
It stays on the ground as mulch, spread as the machine goes. Nothing piled, nothing burned. On a residential street that is the whole point, and it keeps the swale edges from washing in the wet months.
Do I need a permit?
Quite possibly, and this is the county where we most often say check first. Palm Coast runs its own tree rules separate from Flagler County, and on a small lot individual trees carry more weight. Confirm with the city rather than taking a contractor word for it, ours included.
Are you licensed and insured?
Insured, and we send the certificate before the machine moves. Florida does not issue a contractor licence for forestry mulching, so nobody holds one. Insurance is the document worth asking every contractor to produce.
