How the work runs
Four steps, and the first two happen before anything leaves our yard.
Pictures with something in frame for scale, the lot size, and a note on what you want left standing. If you own the lot next door as well, say so now rather than later.
Usually the same day. It is a day count against a published rate, not a guess dressed up as a quote. If we think the ground will need a second day we say so before you book.
The mulching head cuts, grinds and spreads as it goes. No separate clear, pile and haul stage, which is where most of the cost and all of the mess normally sits.
Not bare sand and not a field of cut stems. It holds the surface through the wet months and slows down what comes back.

We sell machine days, not acres, and we publish the rates. The one lever that genuinely lowers the cost per lot is doing more than one in the same visit, and we have done exactly that twice in Fort Pierce.

What moves the day count
The rate follows the machine rather than the size of the stem, which catches people out: the dedicated mulcher costs more than the excavator even though the excavator takes bigger timber and pulls roots. Transport is the cost of getting the bigger two machines to you and is separate from hauling material away, which is quoted per job.

The City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County both regulate tree removal, and which one applies depends on which side of the city line your parcel sits. Worth a look before you decide what comes down.
What is protected depends on the species and the size of the trunk, and whether the parcel is a single family homesite or land being developed. Native canopy species and mangrove along the lagoon are treated differently from invasive exotics, and clearing understory is usually a different question from taking down a mature tree.

Can you do my neighbour lot at the same time?
Yes, and we have done exactly that twice here. Two three acre parcels in December 2025 and two two acre parcels in March 2026, each pair run back to back in the same visit. The machine is already on site and the transport is already paid.
How long does it take?
Our one acre Fort Pierce lots were a single machine day each. The three acre parcels took three days each and the two acre parcels took two. Thick palmetto, trees you want kept and wet ground are what push it, and we say so before you book.
What happens to everything you cut?
It stays on the ground as mulch, spread as the machine goes. Nothing piled, nothing burned. On a platted street that matters more than it sounds, because the alternative is a line of trucks past your neighbours for a day.
Can you clear an old citrus block?
Yes, and it is regular work west of the city. Old grove ground often runs faster than it looks because the rows give the machine a line to work along. Where the stumps and roots have to come out as well, that is grubbing with the excavator rather than a mulching head.
Do I need a permit?
It depends on the species and size of what is standing, and on whether you are inside the City of Fort Pierce or in unincorporated St. Lucie County. Confirm your parcel with the right office rather than taking a contractor word for it, ours included.
Are you licensed and insured?
Insured, and we send the certificate before the machine moves. Florida does not issue a contractor licence for forestry mulching, so nobody holds one. Insurance is the document worth asking every contractor to produce.
