What we clear in Lake Worth

Eight things we are actually asked for on Palm Beach County ground. If your job is not on this list, say so and we will tell you straight whether it is ours.

Forestry mulching

One machine cuts standing growth and grinds it back into the ground as chip in the same pass. No pile, no burn, no trucks.

Infill and vacant lot clearing

A parcel held while everything round it was built on, back to usable ground without a haul operation on a residential street.

Underbrush removal

Brazilian pepper and Australian pine taken out from under whatever canopy you are keeping.

Selective clearing

You mark what stays and we cut round it. On a suburban parcel the mature shade is usually what is worth protecting.

Home site preparation

Building envelope, drive and pad taken down to workable ground before your builder arrives.

Excavator clearing and grubbing

Where the roots have to come out rather than the top growth being ground off. Our 30 inch excavator mulcher.

Boundary and easement lines

Easements, canal edges and the line between you and next door, cleared without touching what the neighbour wants kept.

Debris haul off

Mulching leaves everything where it falls. Grubbing does not, so the haul is quoted per job when it applies.

Who calls us in Palm Beach County

Owners of two adjoining lots

Our Lake Worth booking was exactly this: two neighbouring parcels in one visit. It is the cheapest way to buy a machine day.

Infill developers

A held parcel that needs to become a site. Mulching skips the clear, pile and haul stage entirely.

Owners with a code letter

Overgrowth on a vacant parcel generates letters here. One machine day is normally the whole answer.

People about to build

Clearing the envelope, the drive and the pad before the builder mobilises, so the site is ready rather than a delay.

Owners fighting exotics

Pepper and Australian pine come back hard after every storm season. Mulching takes the standing growth out in one pass.

Sellers and agents

A parcel nobody can see across is a parcel nobody buys. A machine day shows the buyer what they are actually looking at.

How the work runs

Four steps, and the first two happen before anything leaves our yard.

Send photographs

Pictures with something in frame for scale, the lot size, and a note on what you want left standing. On a tight parcel a shot of the access matters as much as one of the growth.

We give you a real number

Usually the same day. It is a day count against a published rate, not a guess dressed up as a quote. Both Lake Worth lots were a day each.

One machine, one pass

The mulching head cuts, grinds and spreads as it goes. On a residential street that is the difference between a quiet job and a disruptive one.

You get a mulch layer

Not bare sand and not a field of cut stems. It holds the surface and slows down what comes back, which here is measured in months rather than years.

What it costs

We sell machine days, not acres, and we publish the rates. Both Lake Worth lots were under half an acre and each took a day, which is the honest arithmetic of a small parcel: you are buying a machine, an operator and a trip.

Skid steer mulcherFrom $3,000

Stems to 8 inches. Transport included. The machine recorded on both of our Lake Worth lots

Excavator mulcherFrom $3,500

Stems to 30 inches, and grubbing. Plus transport

Dedicated mulcherFrom $4,000

Stems to 24 inches. Plus transport. The dearest machine we run

The rate follows the machine rather than the size of the stem, which catches people out: the dedicated mulcher costs more than the excavator even though the excavator takes bigger timber and pulls roots. Transport is the cost of getting the bigger two machines to you and is separate from hauling material away, which is quoted per job.

What we have actually done in Lake Worth

Two finished jobs and two machine days, both in November 2024, both in the same visit.

Nov 2024Two neighbouring parcels of 0.44 acres each, 1 machine day each
The machineBoth ran with the skid steer mulcher, the one with transport included
The bookingOne visit, two lots. Nobody in Lake Worth has yet booked us for a single parcel
Elsewhere in the countyTwo more jobs at Loxahatchee, 11 machine days between them

Both our Lake Worth lots came as a pair and ran back to back in one visit. That is the useful thing on this page: on a small suburban parcel the day is the unit, so a second lot next door is materially cheaper than the first. Worth noting the wider county picture is different, because two Loxahatchee jobs took eleven machine days between them on much heavier ground.

The ground on a Palm Beach County parcel

What grows hereBrazilian pepper and Australian pine dominate anything disturbed and left, with cabbage palm, live oak and ficus on parcels that were never cleared. Seed comes back after every storm season, so a parcel left three years is a different job from one left one year
What that means for a machineWoody regrowth rather than soft understory. On a small suburban lot it is still a comfortable day, but it does not clear at the rate an acreage figure suggests
WaterFlat low lying ground with a canal network through much of the county and a high water table behind it. Tracked machines cope but slow after heavy rain
AccessNarrow frontages, kerbs, parked cars and neighbours either side. On a parcel this size access decides the approach more than the growth does, so photograph the frontage
2 lots

Cleared in a single visit at Lake Worth, a machine day each. On a small suburban parcel, pairing with a neighbour is the one thing that reliably lowers the cost per lot.

What customers say

★★★★★

FloridaLandClearing.com was beyond helpful in getting our property cleared. They were spot on with their quote, their crews arrived on time, and the machines they used were impressive to watch.

Jenny Anderson
★★★★★

We had a difficult project a few other companies attempted and left. Florida Land Clearing was able to get the job done and a day earlier than quoted.

Joseph Kelly
★★★★★

These guys are pros. Watching these machines just devour acres of underbrush in a day was one of the coolest things I have seen. I cannot believe how this transformed my property.

Before you book: trees on a Palm Beach County parcel

Palm Beach County regulates vegetation removal, and the City of Lake Worth Beach and the other municipalities each run their own code. Which applies depends on your address.

What is protected depends on the species and the size of the trunk, and native species are treated differently from invasive exotics such as Brazilian pepper and Australian pine. A parcel inside a municipality is not automatically governed by the county rules.

Tell us what you want gone and what you want kept when you send photographs. We will tell you which trees look like the ones worth asking about before you spend anything.

We are a clearing contractor, not the permit office, and we do not file applications. Confirm your own parcel and your own trees with Palm Beach County or your own municipality before you commit.

Lake Worth questions

How much does it cost to clear a lot in Lake Worth?

From $3,000 a machine day. Both parcels we cleared here were under half an acre and took a day each. If you can pair with a neighbour, that is where the saving is, and it is exactly how our Lake Worth work was booked.

Can you do two lots in one trip?

Yes, and here it is the only way we have done it. Two adjoining parcels in November 2024, run back to back. The machine is already on site and the transport is already paid.

My parcel is small. Is it worth calling?

Yes, but be clear that the day is the unit. A 0.44 acre lot still needs a machine, an operator and a trip, so it costs closer to a day than to a fraction of one. Pairing with a neighbour is the lever that actually moves it.

How fast does it grow back?

Faster here than most of the state. Pepper and Australian pine reseed hard after storm season, and a parcel left three years is a materially bigger job than one left one year. The mulch layer slows it but does not stop it.

What happens to everything you cut?

It stays on the ground as mulch, spread as the machine goes. Nothing piled, nothing burned. On a residential street that is the whole point.

Do I need a permit?

It depends on the species and size of what is standing, and on whether your parcel is inside a municipality or in unincorporated Palm Beach County. Confirm with the right office rather than taking a contractor word for it, ours included.

Are you licensed and insured?

Insured, and we send the certificate before the machine moves. Florida does not issue a contractor licence for forestry mulching, so nobody holds one. Insurance is the document worth asking every contractor to produce.
